Chris Goodell
As a globally recognized leader in HEC-RAS modeling, Chris specializes in integrating risk-based approaches into hydraulic modeling processes. His commitment to education is evident in his role as an instructor for more than 100 professional courses on HEC-RAS, which have been offered across the United States and to international audiences. Chris is the visionary behind “The RAS Solution,” a well-regarded HEC-RAS blog, and the author of “Breaking the HEC-RAS Code,” a pivotal publication in the field. In 2019, he introduced McBreach, an innovative software that enhances the execution of HEC-RAS dam breach models through a probabilistic framework. This tool is now utilized worldwide. Check him out on Full Momentum, an HEC-RAS Vodcast with episodes being released monthly.
Ben Cary
With over nine years of experience in hydraulic and hydrological engineering, Ben is proficient in both 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling, dam breach analysis, and river restoration projects. He employs hydraulic models to analyze river flow and determine the potential risk areas for flood inundation following dam breaches. Ben conducts hydraulic calculations to navigate water through various structures, develops stage-discharge relationships, and assesses the capacity of water gates. He undertakes energy modeling projects to evaluate the potential benefits of facility upgrades on power generation. Holding a license as a Professional Engineer in Oregon and certification as a Floodplain Manager, Ben contributes his expertise as an instructor for the HEC-RAS Webinar Series at Kleinschmidt and as the host of Full Momentum, an HEC-RAS vodcast.
